Red Nose Day is on Friday 26th June, and whilst it is often a fun day to raise money its cause is of great importance to many Australians. Every year when the nose and merchandise hits the shops I get behind this cause and buy a nose for each of my kids, a pen for the handbag and a pin for my husband. It’s a small contribution but it has a lot of impact. It starts the conversations about how fortunate we are to still have our babies growing beside us. It’s an important reminder that whilst they fight, negotiate and cause havoc with their testing, they are, thankfully still here with us.
Since research and the red nose campaign into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome started in 1989, there has been a decrease in SIDS of up to 80%. This is due to research and education programs such as safe sleeping practices. There is still time to buy merchandise or organise a fundraiser for Friday just head across to their website and see how you can help.
